Due to the corona crisis, there are no limits on what schoolchildren are allowed to earn on top for 2020. The Education Executive Agency (DUO) announced that.
Who do the boundaries apply to?
The additional earning limits only apply to:
- MBO students under 18, with a travel product;
- MOG recipients aged 18 and over, who receive student grants;
- HBO graduates and WO graduates, who receive study financing under the old system.
Child benefit
The additional earning limits for young people aged 16 and 17, for whom the parent(s) receive child benefit, had already expired from 1 January 2020. These holiday workers will be allowed to earn an unlimited amount of additional income, without affecting child benefits.
Loan scheme
Even for students at universities and HBO institutions, who use the loan system, and for students in secondary education, there was already no restriction on additional earning.
