From 1 July: buy electric car with subsidy

The secretary of state for infrastructure and water has approved the Private electric car subsidy scheme announced. We describe the terms of this scheme in our article Subsidy on purchase of electric car.

The NOS reports that the grant pot set for 2020 (€10,000,000) is already empty eight days after being opened. New applications are carried forward to subsequent years.

Entrance

The scheme will start on 1 July 2020. Applications can be submitted from this date. For this purpose, applications will be submitted via RFO a form made available.

Applications can be made for purchase and lease agreements concluded on or after 4 June 2020 (the date of publication of the scheme in the Government Gazette). The date of delivery and/or registration of the electric car is not decisive for this.

Request

When applying for a grantgrant must be provided:

  • name, address and BSN of the applicant;
  • name and address of the car company (only when it comes to buying a used car);
  • name and address of the lessor (only in the case of a leased car)
  • date of signing the purchase or lease agreement;
  • make, type and trade name of the passenger car;
  • the list price of the passenger car (as it applied on the date the purchase agreement was signed).

When applying for a grantestablishing are provided in each case:

  • the registration number of the passenger car;
  • The IBAN number of a bank account in the applicant's name.
