Due to the strict lockdown, which came into force today, more business owners are suffering a (greater) loss of turnover. The application portal for the NOW 3.0 scheme has therefore reopened. The TVL application portal had not yet closed.
NOW 3.0
Applications for NOW 3.0 could be submitted up to and including last Sunday. Business owners who have been (further) affected by the lockdown in force since 15 December 2020 were unable to take this into account when deciding whether or not to apply for NOW. They are now being given a further opportunity to submit an application. This must be done by 27 December 2020 at the latest.
You can find more information about the NOW in our factsheet Emergency Measure to Safeguard Employment (NOW) and in our information sheet Adoption of NOW 1.0.
Amend application
Business owners who have already submitted an application for NOW 3.0 may now be experiencing a greater loss of turnover than they stated in their application. It is possible, within 6 weeks of receiving the advance payment decision, to have the percentage of loss of turnover increased by the UWV (a reduction is not possible; a lower loss of turnover can only be taken into account when the TVL is finally determined).
Business owners who have not received a payment under NOW 2.0 can choose the period over which their loss of turnover for NOW 3.0 is calculated:
- October, November and December 2020; or
- November, December 2020 and January 2021; or
- December 2020, January and February 2021.
It is not possible to change a choice once it has been made.
For business owners who have received a payment under NOW 2.0, the period covered by NOW 3.0 must follow on from the period covered by NOW 2.0.
TVL
The grant received under the TVL scheme must be recognised as turnover for the purposes of the NOW scheme. The TVL scheme, for which applications can be submitted up to and including 29 January 2021, covers the grant period of October, November and December 2020. The grant must be allocated proportionally across these months. Consequently, the (expected) amount of the TVL may influence the choice of the period over which the loss of turnover is determined under the NOW scheme.
