A new year means a new tax return season. It’s time to gather the documents you’ll need for your 2018 income tax and national insurance contributions return. Just as in previous years, we have a list prepared using the information required to complete a personal tax return.
DigiD
We do not need your DigiD to complete your tax return. We prepare the return using our tax return software. We then submit the return electronically to the tax authorities via that system.
Digital
Many organisations make this information available in digital form. It is, of course, perfectly fine if you send us this information digitally, for example by emailing us the downloaded files. But we can, of course, also work perfectly well with information on paper.
We would ask you to download the information yourself – which you can access using your DigiD (or another username and password) – and then send it to us.
Pre-filled tax return
The Tax and Customs Administration also pre-fills a lot of the details for you on your 2018 tax return: the pre-filled tax return (VIA). We can retrieve this information digitally from the tax authorities, provided you authorise us to do so. You must do this every year.
You will shortly receive the letter containing the authorisation from the Tax and Customs Administration. Please send us this letter and we will activate the authorisation, so that we can use the details from the VIA when preparing your tax return. We will check the details in the VIA against the information you send us.
