The Subsidy Scheme for Zero-Emission Delivery Vans has been published in the Official Gazette. With effect from 15 March 2021 Applications may be submitted by Dutch companies and non-profit organisations.
Grant
The grant amounts to:
- for vehicle class N1 (light van) 10%, based on the net list price of the van, up to a maximum of €5,000;
- for vehicle class N2 (medium-duty van): 10% of the sale price, up to a maximum of €5,000.
The net list price is the list price excluding VAT.
The selling price is the price of the car, as stated in the contract of sale, less VAT.
The delivery van must be new, fully electric and have a minimum range of 100 km. The battery pack must not contain any lead.
An applicant or group of applicants may apply for the grant for up to 400 vehicles per year.
Request
At the time of applying for a grant:
- the contract for the purchase of the delivery van must not contain any irrevocable obligations, and;
- The delivery van must not yet be registered in the owner’s name.
The application for the grant to be finalised must be submitted after the delivery van has been registered in the applicant’s name. The delivery van must then remain registered in the applicant’s name for at least 3 years without interruption.
The delivery van may, however, be replaced by another new zero-emission delivery van that would also have been eligible for the subsidy, provided that this vehicle remains registered in the applicant’s name for the remainder of the term.
MIA
The MIA scheme applies in addition to the subsidy scheme. For a zero-emission delivery van, the MIA 36% is calculated as a percentage of the purchase price (up to a maximum purchase price of €75,000; for a hydrogen-powered delivery van, up to €125,000).
PLEASE NOTE: The MIA is included in the income tax or corporation tax return. However, to be eligible for the MIA, the investment must be reported to RVO within 3 months of the purchase commitment being made.
Vans with a net list price of less than €20,000 are not eligible for the subsidy. For this type of van, the Environmental Investment Allowance (MIA) provides sufficient support.
