With effect from 1 September 2026, the lorry charge rate will be reduced by 22.3%. The lorry charge will come into force on 1 July 2026 and will apply to all lorries, both domestic and foreign. Truck owners will pay a charge per kilometre travelled. As a result of the temporary reduction, the average rate will fall from €0.191 to €0.148 per kilometre. The reduction applies to all categories of trucks and will remain in force until the end of 2026.
