On Sunday 9 September, the very first edition of Swim to Fight Cancer will take place in the Spiegelwaal in Nijmegen.
Swim to Fight Cancer is an initiative of Fight Cancer, a foundation that raises funds for scientific cancer research and prevention through KWF Cancer Control. Under the name ‘Swim to Fight Cancer’, a unique recreational swim of 1,500 to 2,000 metres through natural outdoor water in a city setting is organised on a certain day of the year. Participants and teams raise as much money as possible for the foundation through sponsorship.
In 2014, the first edition of Swim to Fight Cancer took place in ’s-Hertogenbosch. This was such a huge success that the event has since also taken place in Dordrecht, Delft, Apeldoorn, Hoorn, Haarlem, Eindhoven and Doetinchem. In 2018, the cities of Amersfoort, Tilburg, Gierhoorn, the Stichtse Vecht region, the Hollandse Kroon region and, of course, Nijmegen will also participate for the first time.
As an organisation, we would like to support this wonderful initiative. Therefore, five sporty colleagues will dive into the Spiegelwaal on 9 September to raise as much money as possible for the Fight Cancer Foundation. Will you help us cross the finish line?
