From 1 May 2026, the Inland Revenue will have new account numbers. This is due to the switch from ING to Rabobank. The most commonly used new account number is: NL04 RABO 0200 1122 44. The new account number is on the website and in the notices sent by the Tax and Customs Administration. Tax refunds are also transferred from the new account number.
In many cases, the transition is automatic. Whether action is needed depends on how payments are made.
Payment via iDEAL | Wero
Payments via iDEAL | Wero in the Pay and receive overview will automatically use the new account number. No adjustment is required for this.
Direct debit
Nothing will change with direct debit either. The Tax Administration itself converts the direct debit to the new account number.
Internet banking
When making payments via internet banking, it is important to use the new account number listed in the payment information accompanying a tax assessment or bill from 1 May 2026. In addition, it is wise to update the existing account number in the internet banking address book.
Paper transfer form
When using a paper transfer form, the new account number listed on the payment information attached to the assessment or account must also be used from May 1, 2026.
Periodic transfer
In the case of a recurrent transfer, the account number should be changed as soon as payment information with the new Rabobank account number is received.
