For the third time in a row, Peter Erren is competing in the Libya Rally. After finishing eighth last year, Erren, together with his navigator Jan-Paul van der Poel, now has his sights set on another top 10 ranking, but he realises this will be harder than ever.

The Libya Rally, which started in Fez on Friday 16 April, consists of seven stages with a total length of almost 2,400 kilometres. The competition, with a number of experienced Dakar drivers at the start, is stiff. “The rally has become of itself as a lot more challenging, as it becomes more and more professional,” Peter Erren knows. “With that said, and in this strong field of experienced competitors, making the top 10 will not be easy, but after last year's eighth place finish, that is the main goal. You always have to raise the bar a little higher, I think.”

The Libya Rally will be broadcast by RTL7 and on 10 more channels worldwide. On the Facebook page of Erren Rally Racing daily updates.
