Therefore, the Emergency Employment Bridging Measure (NOW) was created. A new scheme is proposed with the Personnel Retention in Crisis (Wpc) Bill. This bill is to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.internetconsultatie.nl\/wetsvoorstelpersoneelsbehoudbijcrisis\/b1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">internet consultation<\/a> laid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Choice<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the Wpc, employers in a crisis situation can opt for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>redeployment of employees;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduced wage payment, with wage subsidy;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a combination of the above options.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Reassignment involves the employer unilaterally changing employees' work, by reassigning them to other positions. This allows employees to continue working as much as possible. Employers who opt for redeployment must continue to pay their employees' wages for 100%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reduced wage payment means that the employer pays employees 10% less wages for the hours that cannot be worked due to the crisis. The employer can then apply to the UWV for a wage subsidy that covers 65% of the wage costs over the hours not worked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Crisis<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>What all falls under the term crisis for the Wpc is described in detail in Article 2 of the bill. Only when there is 20% less work on average in a 2-month period, the employer can make one of the aforementioned choices.
