The Tax and Customs Administration has taken the option to look up the assessment number using the payment reference off its website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The reason for this is that, in some cases, the tax assessment number contains the citizen service number (BSN). Allowing users to look up the assessment number would therefore contravene privacy regulations. This means that a simple way of using a payment to trace which assessment or tax return had been paid is no longer available. However, alternatives have already emerged online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is still possible to do this via the Tax and Customs Administration\u2019s website, using the Search Help: Payment Reference<\/a>, to look up the payment reference using the tax assessment or tax return number.
