{"id":1239,"date":"2022-07-07T06:36:56","date_gmt":"2022-07-07T04:36:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vwg.nl\/uncategorized\/aflossen-coronaschulden-in-7-jaar\/"},"modified":"2026-03-03T10:34:17","modified_gmt":"2026-03-03T09:34:17","slug":"repaying-coronavirus-related-debts-over-7-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vwg.nl\/en\/aflossen-coronaschulden-in-7-jaar\/","title":{"rendered":"Repaying coronavirus-related debts over 7 years"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The House of Representatives has passed a motion to allow business owners to repay their coronavirus-related debts over seven years rather than five.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Easing of restrictions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier this week, in our article, we described <a href=\"https:\/\/vwg.nl\/en\/nieuws\/repayment-arrangements-for-coronavirus-related-debts-have-been-relaxed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Repayment arrangements for coronavirus-related debts have been relaxed<\/a> the Government\u2019s proposal to relax the rules on the repayment of tax debts for which a special deferral of payment has been granted (\u201ccoronavirus debts\u201d). These relaxations are based on scenario 2 of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijksoverheid.nl\/documenten\/kamerstukken\/2022\/07\/01\/kamerbrief-scenarios-coronabelastingschuld\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Chamber letter<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Motion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The bill passed by the House of Representatives <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tweedekamer.nl\/kamerstukken\/moties\/detail?id=2022Z14156&amp;did=2022D29245\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">motion<\/a> means that scenario 3, rather than scenario 2, will be applied. Scenario 3 entails extending the repayment period from 5 to 7 years, but not without conditions. This extension must, in fact, apply only to viable businesses. To prevent misuse, companies must demonstrate that they are sufficiently viable. However, only a light assessment should be applied in this regard. This could include a liquidity forecast demonstrating the necessity and feasibility of an extended repayment period. Where financial stakes are higher, this may be supplemented by the mandatory involvement of an independent expert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As always, companies must meet all new payment obligations punctually.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>De Tweede Kamer heeft een motie aangenomen om het mogelijk te maken dat ondernemers hun coronaschulden niet in 5, maar in 7 jaar kunnen aflossen.
